Happy Monday! I hope you’re well! Today’s image is probably one of my favourite Macro Mondays so far, it is of the lovely Marlborough Rock Daisy in it’s final form, it once had bloomed a disk of beautiful tiny yellow florets framed by delicate white petals and later it withered/dried to form seeds and “fluffy bits” called Pappus (the seeds and pappus together are called cypsela) eventually the cypsela blew away leaving us with this bare and simply beautiful receptacle.

A wee bit of interesting reading from Sciencing.com and also Waynes Word (which seems like its from earlier in the 2000s but is pretty neat) if you’re interested. 🙂
Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a spectacular week!
